When the kiddos arrived, they started on a coloring sheet and got to use markers, crayons, foamies, stamps, and stickers to decorate it.
Next, we broke out the homemade playdough and made shapes using cookie cutters, and forks!
For lunch, we ate chicken nuggets, strawberry applesauce, and apple juice...
We were supposed to eat lunch outside in the back yard in the tent, but it rained. :( Then we were supposed to play with sidewalk chalk and bubbles and Rich was going to take the kiddies on rides in the bike trailer around the culdesac (he was our "pony") but he got out of that because of the rain too. So, we improvised. I'm so lucky we have a huge playroom in the basement. They were all easily amused, thank goodness!
When the kids were done playing, we all sang Happy Birthday to the Man of the Hour...
Then I let them get to work decorating their own rainbow chip cupcakes... a little crazy? Yes. But it was so much fun for them. We had 4 different types of sprinkles, M-n-Ms, and mini-gummy bears to choose from.
Dom loved the blue sprinkles. He sprinkled his cupcake, his icecream, his friend, Kaden, himself, the table, the floor... I'm still stepping on sprinkles!
Dominic dove right into his cupcake, no crying over frosted fingers this year....
